What’s a Wet Pan Mill?

The wet pan mill is the full name of the wet pan grinding mill, gold pan mill, or wheel pan mill. According to the different applications, it is divided into the gold mill, amalgam mill, iron mill, and electric mill;

According to the different structure, it is divided into single pan mill, double pan mill and three pan mill. The equipment is mainly composed of a power unit, a frame, a water basin, a grinding wheel, a grinding plate and other components.

Working Principle Of Wet Pan Mill

  • Motor drive: First, the motor transmits the power to the gearbox.
  • Power transmission and conversion: Driven by the speed reducer and via a large vertical spindle, the power is transmitted to the linkage above (e.g. whip drive mechanism).
  • Movement of the grinding rollers: The linkage drives two grinding rollers in clockwise rotation. These rollers not only rotate around the large vertical spindle, they also rotate on their own.
  • Grinding process: When the ore is added, the material rotates with the grinding rolls under the gravity compression of the grinding rolls and at the same time generates a huge friction force with the grinding substrate. This friction and squeezing force will grind the material to a fine powder.
  • Separation and collection: The ground material will be separated according to the particle size, the fine powder that meets the requirements will be collected, while the larger particles will continue to be ground.
